Bosskey to play a TV show host in an English film

TV show host and actor Bosskey is all set to be seen in an English film, titled The Newsmaker. The film, directed by debutant Nikesh Bella Narayanan, revolves around the conflict between a TV show host and the head of a TV channel. “Nikesh wanted me to pull off the character of a show presenter, something that I have been doing for years, albeit in English.Actor Mathew Verghese plays the channel head. Our characters are constantly at loggerheads — while the head wants a show to be presented in a certain manner, I end up doing just the opposite, just out of spite,” says Bosskey.
What’s interesting is that the entire film has only two characters and the shoot for it has been wrapped up in three days. “We had a very limited crew and we shot the film keeping all the COVID-19 protocols in mind. The plot revolves around only two characters and is set in a TV studio. So, we managed to wrap the shoot in three days,” says Nikesh, who has completed a filmmaking course in Los Angeles. He adds, “I have always wanted to make films that were a tad different. The reason I decided to shoot this in English is so that the film could have a wider reach.”
